Gerbera
it nearer to the kitchen window in more shade and it sulked. I find they flower sporadically though, of enough at one time. However, in my front garden where it is sandier and prob sunnier they did best. ..not THE John McVicar? by High-Ruchill

Seeds query
,cucumbers,  some flowers various seeds . What are the odds on them growing ? I have a very small garden so only use a few seeds each year . It seems  a waste to throw them away but I don't want to waste my time on them if they don't grow well .Any help would be useful by mo6

Tesco foot christmas tree

Talkback: Keeping herbs for winter
This year I have potted up herbs that die down in winter (mint, chives, marjoram) and put them on my kitchen windowsill. Very handy for snipping! What's with the Dill this year ? Mine's grown to over 1m 8o cms and still going. My only references say by Caroline

. You may not have watched the late Geoff Hamilton on Gardeners' World raise seedlings on his windowsill. He made a reflector using kitchen foil on a piece of card and placed this behind the pots to reflect light back onto the seedlings from behind by rogerdennis

Growing hyacinth in a glass vase help please

I naturalised bulbs in my lawn several years ago. A couple of years ago we started to alter the front garden and where the bulbs were was where all the rubbish was put and even a bonfire. Now we have laid a new lawn and just the other day several by donutsmrs

pinning down weed control fabric
and cannot get the pins for that into the ground.Any ideas for keeping the fabric down so i can shingle on top and create my kitchen garden?  sarah There are heavy duty pegs out there that you can buy which are stronger than the standard (tent pegs) that you by Bradders3
