Talkback: Derelict gardens
for the winter. Then I kept reading that wildlife needed the seed heads and dying plants etc in your garden, so this year I did not tidy my garden. It is alive with so many birds of all kinds and insects, beetles and ladybirds are still around, all over by Allotment Robin

Unknown beetle..
I have a number of unknown beetles on my lemon balm, sage and rosemary (and probably on other things!).  Can anyone assist with identifying it, and advise what pest control to use - it is ladybird size, it is by Jules63

My dream garden
.  And that's when I had booked my holiday. I can only just remember that summer I hadn't started school but I can remember bizillions on ladybirds they where everywhere, we went on holiday to north wales and even the beach was covered in them! I remember by sotongeoff

Bee news from The Beeb, Eu Ban pesticide
in my garden and rely instead on birds and predators like ladybirds and hoverflies plus hand picking for lily beetle.  I do, however, have some Provadon on stand by in case I ever get vine weevil but it's probably past its sell by date. I too use by blackest

story to make you smile now.Two young girls came to tell me that another wee girl had stolen a lady bird from my garden kept a sraight face and said Im sure the ladybird did'nt mind. Laughed at the thought then spent the rest of the night worrying by Margaret

White bugs infesting compost bin
've loads of ladybirds, although I haven't seen any lacewings yet, just thought they would have a feast.    I have two greenhouses, one heated and one not...I used the compost (mixed with leafmould and shreddings - both well composted) and there doesn't seem by HyppyByker

. There were owls too, which would sometimes keep you awake and horses would sometimes be grazing in the field. We would collect grasshoppers, ladybirds and butterflies in the summer and have competitions to see who could collect the most before letting them go by flowering rose

heloo every one
oooh lovely food for the birds and ladybirds etc but as a read on here there is a lot less aphids than there used to be,personally i think it is too much interference with nature,even the GM groing could be having a knockon affect.last yr i had a lot by gail collins
