Saying bye bye to ants
I have poured paraffin on some serious ant  hills in my front garden. I assume the little Bu****ers are all stiffs now. Am I safe to shovel off the top of these quite large humps to level what used to be grass. Now dead for a while. For those who by Phil notgreenfingers

Wild Flower Seeds
I'm keen to try and develop a wild flower garden on a sloped area behind our house.  I saw in GW April, the free seed offer. Because this area is quite large I was keen to see if I could get some free seeds. I followed the advice in the article by Ann ONEILL

Re-potting acers
I have a large acer which has been in a pot since I bought it.   I think it needs re-potting and we have a large pot to put it in but it didn't do very well this year and I am wondering if it will tolerate being put in a bed in the garden after all by cazza102carol

Front garden re-design

Miniature Tree or Bush
I am going to make a raised bed for my front garden it will measure 4.5ft x 3ft x 12" and in the centre i want to plant a nice looking miniature tree or flowering bush. The soil in my front garden is very dry due to a large oak tree in a by paslode

Hi we have moved into a flat with a large communal garden there is a large pile of garden soil at the bottom (from when previous tenant dug up some bushes) can we use the soil in our vegetables and potato bags. You could but I find a few snags by Janice Spark
