Stones everywhere
that the mower will not go over them when you lawn has rooted, then ignore all but the largest.   If you want to grow carrots or other root veggies you would like to have straight roots rather than winding around a stone, use deep containers, these you can keep by Olivedog

Eek! Hedgehog in the pond....
Whilst giving my lawn a mow, movement from the pond caught my eye and spotted a hedgehog having difficulties getting out. It had managed to get itself caught between a sunken pot and the edge of the pond and couldn't haul itself out (I'm very by Tim Burr

Spring Time
together, we get long grass. Spring also signifies the start of the mowing season; it is where we fight our way through boxes of old glass bottles and newspapers which we should have taken to the tip weeks ago to finally reach the lawn mower which rests by George Barnes

, and mowers that were for ever breaking down, so ,as I prefer biodiversity anyway, I decided to get rid of my three lawns and do some more interesting gardening. Glyphosate was the answer and I still can grow broad beans free of blackfly and seldom have any by happymarion

not ventured out into the lawn, apart from a few short deviations and no hills have appeared. I have put a few mothballs in the tunnels, and I think (fingers crossed!!) that he has moved on to pastures new. I haven't heard my neighbours cursing, so hopefully by happymarion

lawn removal?
I'm setting up a veg patch with raised beds in my new garden which is all laid to lawn.I have purchased some weed suppressing membrane for the paths between the beds which I will be covering with gravel.My question is as the area for the raised beds by Christopher Tribe

FORKERS Sheds
hand spade and fork. A gas bar-be-cue also fits in and it's not a small one.  The lawn mower fits in leaving a ft square to walk in and out. I get mice in the in winter so all the fertilizers, feeds and stuff which come in bags need to be put in plastic by Brumbull

Just moved into an old house... huge ANT nest in flower bed :)
peas and not dying as of yet... I shall try a kettle of boiling water next... Possibly infused with mint...   I have several in my front lawn, but i dont wory too much as i can weed the beds from the paths. When i ve been out there with the lawn mower i by bobwilson
