Long garden needs design help
(where possible), safe and enjoyable. We were thinking about running mostly lawn from the patio to the willow but are conscious a lawn will struggle under the willow and close to the beech hedging either side. Personally I think some sort of path is also by sanch3z

Moss overtaking sedum roof...help!
Can anyone please suggest a way of removing/killing off moss which is trying to overtake my sedum roof. I have been up there today and tried to weed it by hand and I think it would take weeks.I would like to use an organic moss control treatment by louise pope

feature shrubs (evergreen)
Due to weed and moss taking over, I am forced to do away with my front lawn and have created 2 centre beds with gravel paths surrounding. The outer borders are well established with shrubs. I want to plant a feature shrub in the centre of each bed by Honeys Uncle

Talkback: Weeds - dandelions
than see it as a foe? Pippa, how good to see someone else has grass instead of a lawn. I love the dandelions too. I've actually planted 'weeds' like speedwell and daisies in my grass. I've reverted to a manual mower and keep it on the highest cut all by Richard Jones

Lawns
I like to have a fairly nice lawn (I’m far from obsessive) it’s full of moss after the winter we have had,  it’s obviously fairly wet at the moment  –  not excessively as a gentle slope - we may have a ‘dry’ week next week, should I leave well alone by Devon Gardener

Best way to tidy areas outside of lawn, stop unwanted growth?
We have various trees, which surround the lawn, and in between these are areas full of unwanted shrubs and weeds. They have been persistent and a couple of gardeners we have spent a lot of money on have not been able to find a permanent cure by fiohaa
