Talkback: Hibernating snails
boozy parties and procreate all the more. At dusk, my lawn is teaming with slugs. (my garden is 100 x 40ft in size). Literally covered with them. Not sure how to deal with this problem as there are quite a few cats in the area I don't wish them to come by Anonymous

and have a very small garden but LOTS of leaves are falling from trees behind the back fence I rake them from the lawn should I also remove them from the flower beds which is mainly shrubs with a few newly planted perannials and bulbs By regularly turning by compost

wormicide and the wormery was out. I believe there are at least two barbecues in there, various rakes for a lawn that disappeared years ago, some rather nice pots, a large colony of small spiders and a small colony of large ones. If I could get in there I by Rhoda Dendron

the seed feeder, particularly picking up seeds falling on to the lawn, with 4 house sparrow joint second, and 3 very fat woodpigeons and 3 green finches in joint fourth place. Disappointed with only a single blackbird, starling and song thrush. I'm sure by VP

Talkback: Sieving compost
from B&Q, with a bit of patience I could have held a barbecue. I'm having two trees taken down in a few weeks and I can keep their chippings if I wish. I have a large garden, and a thread-bare lawn (due to my footballing sons!). Any ideas what I can do by jennyhewitt

What do I do about persistent moss on my borders, both soil and shrub stems? Would lawn sand kill the plants? I have a white foam type substance growing in my compost bin. i presume it is bacteria. Do i need to get rid of it, and if so how. I would by Compost Problem

nothing could grow through. Suffice to say it looked drab and devoid of plant and animal life. I've now moved the stones, seeded and grown a lawn. Now looks great. Lots of bugs and birds now... Great blog Adam, we have the little 'hoppers' in our garden by Lizzie the gardner

have leafs...is this true...if so how do i plant them so i can acheive flowers every year,i wish to plant them in my lawn and some in the borders. Yes the Pheasant Eye daffs are great and scented too, however they flower much later and many gardeners by lillylady
