I generally am a live & let live sort of person with most leaf miners as with other garden insects/pests but I do get really rather cross about the devastation that miners always do to my Iris foetidissima leaving almost white stripy leaves by happymarion

Allium leaf miner
Having recently moved to the South of England from the North, where I used to grow good leeks over winter, I was surprised to find my first crop here devastated by allium leaf miner. I have checked the RHS and other websites and can confirm by David Westwood

treatment for leaf miner fly? If so, what is it? A systemic insecticide will deal with it, but you really have to spray before they appear. They are harmless, just disfiguring. by Coulstons

Silvery spots on tomato leaves

white bloches on pea leaves
they are looking really lush and growing well so im not too concerned .. Could be pea leaf miners.  Take a leaf off and look closely to see if you can see a tiny green insect sandwiched between the top and bottom surfaces of the leaf - they eat it from the inside by flowergirl4

't always leave obvious trails.  When you say the holes are like the wings of a lacewing, do you mean the structure is intact, but the green material between the veins is being eaten?  If so, it could be a sever leaf miner attack.  A photo would really help by mdw84

Basil with a problem
