local fruit and veg.shop. Pots of herbs like parsley, basil, coriander from your grocers late in the season for half price ,when well watered and divided, will develop into huge plants to give you herbs for the rest of the year. Much cheaper than by chutneyhunter

Talkback: Paving over front gardens
it might have been part of the original building specifications. Bit by bit, though, people have been removing slabs to plant shrubs and flowers. I had the whole lot lifted in our front garden last summer, and found the remains of an earlier concreted area by happymarion

and buds are popping. My soil is sandy, so I can dig with ease any time of year but need to feed and mulch like its going out of fashion. Jobs today included dividing a large fern, moving the last bare root rose in the wrong place and oh yes...I found my by newbee flowergirl28
