give it some food) or when it dies back take it out of the pot and store it in the shed til planting time comes round? Hi nut, I have a lovely little single Iris in a pot that has been coming up for years with complete neglect. Mine probably could do by nutcutlet

Talkback: Harvesting potatoes
my potato plant has produced a small bunch of fruit bodies. they are very similar in look to a small green tomato. when cut open it has small seed and smells like a tomato. when I lifted the plant there were tuber attatched. any ideas ? I by Charles Johnston

The RHS advice is to divide these in early autumn, but by then the leaves have long gone and I am never sure where they are. Can I lift them earlier, like at the end of May, when I can still locate them, and dry / store the bulbs like I would by Gold1locks

B & Q Compost
. Think I will just spread it on the garden,cant take it back as it nearly broke my back lifting it in the car where it was so heavy. II always buy from a local GC that keeps the bags under cover so they don't get wet.  B&Q have always stored compost by nodlisab

Overwintering perennials
I bought plug plants earlier in the year of Chrysanthemums, Snapdragon, Gerbera Osteospermum and Dahlia.  I have lifted the Dahlias and put the tubers in the greenhouse to dry out. Not quite sure what to do with the other plants. I think I should by Mrs M

last year and they went all curly and tangled up together ok maybe i will thin out then lol ,bet u save a lot of time on peeling though I lift our Parsnips after a few frosts but before the soil becomes solid, and store in the shed in sand, we finished by gardeningeek

, garlic planted October coming on fine. Garlic needs between 24-36 weeks from planting to maturity. Harvest when leaf tip yellows, lifting carefully with a fork and drying and storing like onions. My garlic planted in october should be about ready I by delaney
