Grassed area at the side of my house.
, sandy, silty, loam or clay - and how much maintenance you are able to do.  Some plants look after themselves, others need regular pruning, shaping, dead-heading. Do you see it from your windows or just when out in the garden?  That makes a difference by dannyboy10

Advice required for low maintenance raised beds?
a California lilac and fatsia japonica but they may be too big.......whatever, all these shrubs are pretty low maintenance, we have some blue bells and narcissus planted in there. And just to add a little colour in the summer I put quite a few by Fabio

Train Station Gardens
in Southampton, making a nice new flower bed from scratch. There are 2 of us and we have added a few low maintenance plants to make a bit of colour for commuters to see in nice free draining soil in a sunny site.   Really-which station? Hi it's Sholing station by Gardengirl..

Long garden needs design help
, which will contain plants and up lighters. We’ll be capping the lower cavity with dark wood so it can act as some casual seating. Now we need to look at the rest of the garden… as we have a young family we’re looking for something that’s low maintenance by sanch3z

Please help me design my garden - part 2
on planting in big pots to sit on the bark, but I don't know what will do well in medium sized pots in the shade.  I guess a couple of hardy shrubs would be best, but would prefer flowering.  Ideally evergreen and low maintenance, max 5ft tall.  I don't want by Laura P

Common Laurel Hedging?
tall. Many thanks, William.  A mixed hedge of hawthorn, holly, and quickthorn would be a lot more friendly for the wild life, giving them cover and nesting sites, and a burglar proof barrier for you. Once grown it's fairly low maintenance, once a year by William Nicholson

Looking for ideas to mini-landscape..
