any suggestions
but it has loads of lovely flowers in Spring, needs very little maintenance apart from having to hack it back when it outgrows it welcome. Just give it something to climb on to and you're away. Great suggestions re your neighbours gardens, I guess it depends by PLP

't really know how much sun this area gets throughout the year as we don't go there - that's why I want it to be low-maintenance.  It probably gets 3-4 ?? hours a day (when it shines....)  Probably not much in Dec/Jan due to the low sun behind the houses by Highland Jeannie

Planting an Art-Deco Raised Border

Venturing into the gardening world...

difficult spot - shade wise!
arum lilies will love it there too. Shrubs like skimmia. Sarcoccoca....fantastic winter scent....is lovely evergreen. Daphne's and hydrangeas will do,well there.You,could have a very attractive, low maintenance foliage and flower area there of interest by jmeds

Advice on a single container please

How to cover a slope with ivy cuttings
is going to be a bit of a thug and will eventually need control.   That makes sense Gardening grandma - I will cut longer lengths of ivy and peg them in several places along the slope - I dont mind the maintenance at all, its the ugly slope i hate looking by DONS1979
