Talkback: Growing potatoes and onions
. The easiest thing to do is just grow them in an old compost bag or dustbin - just pop them over roughly 10cm compost, cover with another 10cm compost, then keep topping up with compost as the leaves start poking through until you get to the top. Increase by ALEX

Get thrifty
into the bin and replace with a fresh foot!  Tights can be packed with nettles, dandelion heads, comfrey or horse manure ( it's amazing how much they stretch) and then suspended in a bucket of water to make a compost 'tea'. You can also use an old pair by Daniel Haynes

Talkback: Green manure
. This will help bind the soil's particles together, making it more water retentive and rich in humus. Is it difficult to dig because it's stony/rocky, or is it compacted? If you add manure/compost now cover it with plastic sheeting to prevent the nutrients by Kate Bradbury

Talkback: Dandelions
/Wiltshire border. I think they look pretty in the lawn, but I know if it doesn't rain this weekend, my husband will be out there digging them all up and making his straight lines as he cuts the grass. I wonder why it's only men who have to mow in straight lines by bushybushkins
