Talkback: How to grow marginal pond plants
lily like the one Joe planted is sitting on a shallow ledge in the pond with it,s crown above or just about level with the surface of the water. It has suffered badly this winter from the frost and frozen over pond. I realise now it should be deeper by josiel

garden ponds
I have at last made a small garden pond, it is intended for the wildlife, at great expense I have bought 3 marginal plants to put in it but am really confused about how to plant them. Am recently made jobless so expenditure a major problem ! I would by Lizzie Bee

pond plants
My recently completed pond has a visible pipe at water level, which I would like to hide with a plant growing down from the rocks above it and trailing into the water. Are there plants I should avoid which would be toxic to fish, newts and frogs by Leslie Longstaff

Duckweed and pond weed
and they caused too much damage to the marginal plants. I then tried fish - they ate it very reliably but also devoured any invertebrate or amphibian life until a heron, in turn, ate them. Anyone have any suggestions please? by Vith

Digging a natural, unlined pond?
the margins with hardy bog plants.  I won't be able to top it up with fresh water - it's too far from the house.  I'm assuming I can't put a liner in, because it would just get pushed up from underneath by the ground water.  Our subsoil is clay. We had by Laura Corin
