once in a while i have always loved gunnera and astilbe arums things along those lines i know theres quite a few things i could plant and then letting that go a bit wild almost meadow sort of style The clay is the underlying problem What about a pond by matthew hayes

vegetables and horse manure
allotments where destroyed by a weed killer used to kill weeds in meadow grasses the weedkiller was called Forfront; Derek clogerhead is right, if you live near a stables you can find out about the fields where the horses have fed to avoid this problem. I by Tractorboy

.Most weed's get the chop once a week if dry enough thank to Mrs Oldchoppy.Oldchippy I have close cropped lawn to approx 50%, long grass to 10%, wildflower meadow to aaprox 20% and nectar rich borders to 20%. In the longer grass I have Bladder Campion by ChristyRose

What we are doing this week
? Rescued more yclamen from the flood waters. Moved seeded primroses from the garden to the meadow. Moved a heptacodium, getting a bit big for me to move but it was so dry here last winter I didn't do it. Got more leaves of the hellebores. Thought about by artjak

Bees, Butterflies and Blooms
into thinking about planting up a meadow garden. As no one has answered yet, may have to pop along to garden centre and ask advice from there. (sorry, registering meant my reply was lost!) I also loved this programme but was disappointed that even the RHS' own by Botticelliwoman

'll get some whites, maybe all white. But there is a tendency for things to seed back to the basic species. I love ragged robin. Don't know if I'll have any this year, I know its natural habitat is damp meadows but my 'damp' meadow has been under water by Ryan Lloyd
