Favorite tomatoes
I am starting to think about which Tomatoes to sow this year, has anybody got any preferences on which to recommend ? I'd always go for some cherry tomatoes - gardener's delight or sungold. Brandywine are great for a beefsteak, though can by John Reynolds

When setting up the scarer you have to adjust it to the size of the animal you want to scare - small, medium or large, so, with it set on medium,usual garden birds do not activate it. oh..that is good to hear.. thou the seagull keeps the 2 buggers off by Bee friendly

What should I feed?
-elements that some plants need more than others, but I'd need a book to detail them all. The bottom line, though, is that if the garden soil - or whichever medium you use - is good and healthy to start with, veg shouldn't be over-fertilised. About the only exception by AJB

Clematis integrifolia - a hard nut?
water, nip some of the coat or what? Thanks for any suggestions. Yes, they can and do take a long time to germinate.  I bought exactly the same seeds from T&M as few years back but left them in a pot in the garden over winter.  The good news is that I by rusflorum

plants for part shade/ full shade
What plants are good for a garden area that gets morning sun but then a lot of shade rest of day It is for a north facing front garden would like medium plants maybe with flowers or not with spring and winter interest are grasses suitable as well by Gardengirl..

Arum Lily Problems
I am a keen but new owner of a big garden.  One area is very shaded by 7 medium sized trees and bushes and a big monkey puzzle.  About six weeks ago, in among lily of the valley shoots and bluebells most of the area seemed to be shooting arum by Ally5

 worked well, because it was flatter than a more well-shaped conifer and fitted the space rather well. Wendy7, if you buy a conifer sold in a garden centre for pot planting, it will be a slow-growing one. It will grow until its roots are pretty pot bound by Wendy7
