Talkback: Mind-your-own-business
I have found the best way to treat "Mind-your-own-business", is to pour boiling water on it. This kills the plants right down to the reasonably shallow roots. Do this in spring and Autumn, and they will never come back. Thank you Buddy I have been by rucklidge

Plant identification
to use glyphosate right now. It's hormone based meaning the plant needs to be growing strongly with new growth. Glyphosate can be used when temps rise bit more It might be Helxine - mind your own business Might not http://www by Floyd

Can anyone help identifying a plant?
, as it looks so good! Yep thats cerastium tomentosum. If you pull a  piece away with a little root, you will have your own plant. Just keep it watered until it takes hold. Beautiful - snow in summer I have one huge clump of this in my garden, only last week I by Lunarz

Is it worth having a garden professionally designed?
. I wouldn't let someone else loose on my patch I think it depends on what your trying to acheive. Not everyone can create what they visually see in their own minds, so need to pay someone else to create it. And also, the difficulty level by David Andersen

about privet? http://www.hedginguk.com/privet.html is a site you can look at. Pyracantha is horribly spiny but would be good if you didn't mind that. What about Eleagnus or Photinia Red Robin? I have Eleagnus Gilt Edge which has gold around the leaves by carney

Windchimes
make you a cuppa?  Chimes would drive me nuts. But the real problem is actually inside your own head. Some people live adjacent to motorways, or just beneath aircraft flight paths. And the noise doesn't affect them. Although many would not be able by Dovefromabove

Our NGS Open Day
garden is fantastic Fabulous, Pam. Loved your excellent commentary too...somehow I guessed you would have a gentle voice. Comparing with my own patch, I could draw comfort from knowing my tomatoes & runner beans were perhaps a smidgen ahead of yours by lilylouise

Talkback: Greenhouse cleaning
, 'Great minds think alike', glad you're all as easily persuaded by the lure of algae-encrusted glass and compost, it has GOT to be the way forward...after all it does all end up contributing to the meals for those omni-present rumbling tums!! l have done by Lorrie, Sheffield

Depression and how gardening saved me
I have always enjoyed gardening and had often thought about setting up my own business. I have now done this. I never realised how important gardening was to me until I went through a breakdown. Having read articles and books by Monty Don I decided by lezdennis
