they must remain there when they're dead but of course they haven't been mixed with Tesco's cheapest lager. How did you dispose of your nasties when you had skewered them? If you throw them in your council garden waste bin, the recycling process should be ok by sandyr

Plant suggestions please
Hey all, I've got a bit of mixed border I'm altering and was hoping for some ideas for a specific spot. Soil is heavy alkaline clay, position is fairly shady. Bit windy from 4ft up and slug and snail infested. Nearby plants are bergenia, euonymous by auntie betty

plants on a tree lined back drop
"country" look with herbaceous borders. any tips for big gardens also much appreciated. Thanks As silver birch look so good in winter when the sun is on their stems, I'd emphasise the interest with good evergreens such as holly which can be plain green by biggarden_smallknowledge

Talkback: Growing zinnias
on a really good show, and will certainly grow them again. Thanks for the variety recommendations Lila. I'll have to try some of these, as I prefer the single colour varieties rather than the mixes. 'Blackcurrant Cordial' sounds tasty. Pleased to hear by Lila Das Gupta
