, they are just totally dramatic and fantastic value. Really long lasting, great as cut flower. Easy to germinate and come in some amazing varieties. The sexiest of which is Red Spider or even fireworks mixed.I sowed mine a week ago and they are already standing by Antonia

Where to start! Planning new borders, complete garden novice.
deep, edged with sleepers and we are on a chalky soil. I want to plant a mix of thyme and lavander and maybe something else along the lawn in from of them to soften the harsh edges and I want the borders to look like one long display, not 4 boxes but I by Olivedog

evergreen perenial border
mixed in for year round interest I have a few shrubs in mind Euonymus fortunei emerld and gold maybe a box ( which I would trim to keep smallish), A dwarf buddlia .I have been looking at perenials and am now all confused Can anyone give me a list by bill hibbert

Planting to reduce soil water content / reduce holard?
x 5m lawn in very poor condition.due to poor light and an abundance of leaves, behind that some flowerbeds in poor condition and at the very back some mature trees. There are borders running the full length of the garden at ground floor  level I by Frank E

have leafs...is this true...if so how do i plant them so i can acheive flowers every year,i wish to plant them in my lawn and some in the borders. Yes the Pheasant Eye daffs are great and scented too, however they flower much later and many gardeners by lillylady

Making a woodland garden
many brambles and scrub type stuff if the it hasn't been managed for some time.  Best to dig these out as best you can then try a woodland wildflower seed mix.  There are plenty of on-line places but I use http by woodlandgardener

Are these lavender plugs acceptable or DOA?
compost.    Love the border where yours aregoing. It will look and smell wonderful.   I used a mix of ordinary potting compost and grit (coz they like good drainage).  I got the same offer last year, and it seemed to work well.  I have potted them by Steve B
