what can I put in compost
'm sure it's ok to put bits I cut back from perennials. Some pelargoniums I tries to overwinter died and had whitish dust on them, can these be included? What about weeds from cracks in paving including grass? Finally what about moss growing on the top by Bev Pounsett-Krynauw

How long after lawn feed and weed killer can I plant things?

Talkback: Collecting fallen leaves
November. Seasons have seemed rather confused this year! I have loads and loads of leaves, and less and less time – result, an orchard lawn full of moss! Whilst I agree that gardening is a pleasure, one must remember that in order to support a garden by James Bond

creating a Japanese garden.
to combine all this with moss, Japanese acers of differing forms and hues, ferns, hostas and so on to make it a green and tranquil place of reflection. I suggest getting a few books out of the library to find some design inspiration. I should also like by beatricecoffey

Edging for bed
are actually growing lichens and mosses. I've used wooden log rolls as edgers and they do rot very quickly really.   The concrete ones are much better as long as they're supported somehow and are also growing lichens now. Sorry Geoff no piccies, know you like by bunnysgarden

Laying new Turf
. If you follow this, you should have a lovely lawn with very little maintenance and if there's no shade, very little moss. The sharp sand sounds excessive, at 50% but trust me, grass loves free draining soil and will grow like a champ. Thanks Brummie by Olivedog

Talkback: Planting garlic
Reply to Moss Rose: We recently took the reluctant decision to remove the 7-day weather forecast for gardeners, as there were problems with the data feed from our third party supplier. Rather than publish incomplete or erroneous data, we are now by Moss Rose

good wildflowers for low Victorian garden wall?
I have inherited a lovely, 3 ft high Victorian garden wall - it's lovely and rough, with moss growing here and there. Have transplanted some sedum cuttings onto it, which are taking well, but wanted to know if anyone has any other tips for good by freshairfanatic
