boggy mossy lawn
Hi just moved into house with a very damp moss filled lawn. its about 60ft x30ft so is there any advice on how to tackle it without digging the whole lot up with a digger and starting over. It will probably have to be relawned just to gat rid by raheny

I was wondering - is it ok to put ivy prunings and moss on the compost heap or will they regenerate? I have a lot of cripsy brown rhododenrdron leaves too - they are such sturdy leaves will they compost down or would it be best to just burn them all by nightgarden

Rhododendron possibly dying
!!! The leaves are sagging downwards and I've noticed that they are starting to turn brown all over as if they have died. At the base of the plant there is a lot of moss growing around it. There is another rhododendron in the same border which is perfectly by Garden-Girl

Carrots
. straight sifted compost. or 1/4 sand 1/4 sifted compost 1/4 good soil 1/4 grated peat moss I just use a mix of 35% sand and 65% compost. They can push through it so you get lovely carrots by Daniel Duff

Gardening on Bedrock
I have a garden which is founded on bedrock. There is only an inch or so of top soil in some places, and deeper pockets spread out randomly. Mainly covered with lawn and moss. It is also on a slope and is very poor draining. There doesnt seem by wetfeet

spring lawn feed via a spreader
Can anyone advise what is a good spring feed for lawns using a spreader?  Our lawn has moss and weed through it so will give it a rake and aerate it first but have no idea what feed is good to use at this time of year. Immediately-do nothing by Gill Lindfield
