Talkback: Yarrow
it is a dry sandy slope.  Other people get moss, I get yarrow.  I tried to get rid of it when I first moved to my house but have long since given up the battle.  I now just mow it with the rest of the grass.  At least it still looks green in mid summer by jegpad

.Then something caught my eye a Jenny Wren with a beak full of moss going into an old brick wall,as some of the bricks were missing I covered the holes with a piece of wood with a hole drilled in, ideal for nesting and it's worked. There is also a blue tit looking by oldchippy

. These 3 are the small pitcher type and seem to be growing just in moss and in 2 inch pots-I know you are supposed to use rain water and keep them moist-has anybody got any other tips like repotting at any time? They are going to be kept indoors. Thanks by sotongeoff

New lawn help!!
once again and moss is now taking over! Any ideas on what we can do? Am thinking its the drainage underneath. Also it's clay which our house has seemed to be built on. Thanks I agree. I've just laid a new lawn and the preparation took forever by Gloucestergirl13

what will you do to deal with the drought
use water retaining granuals mixed into compost-- dont just sprinkle-- mix ,because sprinkled, it can form a mass of jelly, no good to plant or soil. Something else to try, moss mixed in to compost, really holds the moisture, also blotting paper by plainleaf

Nightmare Garden To Design Around - Help Needed
also got a lot of moss growing on it. I'd really like to make it useable but I hate how ugly the incredibly steep bank is that goes up the side to the farmers border and I'm not sure what to do along the side which leads to the road.  I would love by Myfallenheart

North Facing Front Garden
Hi All, Having finally managed to get somewhere with the rear garden, the wife and myself have decided to do something with the front. At the moment it is just a moss covered semi grassed slope. It is North facing and as such is in shade for most by sarahandrob
