Butterflies

unidentified pest eggs
perfect hexagon shape. each ball is smaller than a pin head, the whole hexagon is smaller than a 5p coin.  it's rather stunning to find it but i am concerned that it may be an unwelcome pest. anyone know what this is? many thanks   Some sort of butterfly/moth by Mizz

Moles
regular basis - best done in early spring when they're on the move looking for mates and then later when the babies leave the nest and set up their own territories.  Lots of tunnelling at those times. I have found that mole reppelling plants, moth balls by Sandra Davies

bee flies
For a while now I have seen lots of insects in my garden that resemble bees but hover and have a long probosis. Someone  told me they were hummingbird hawk moths but it is far too early and they are much larger. After investigating online I have by LM

a little tip
A cheap tip that works,without harming anything, put a ring of vaseline around your tubs now to prevent slugs,weavels and ants getting at your plants,i also put a ring around the fruit trees to stop the coddling moth crawling up and infesting by gail collins

experienced anything similar? The webs may be from moth caterpillars - they are very well camouflaged, which is why you won't have seen them. They will eventually kill the parts of the shrub that they keep festooning with webs. There's no organic control, I by BikeryDave
