Carniverous plants
'm glad I've heard of someone else growing them -all my friends think I'm nuts ! I've got some mexican hybrid butterworts. Great at catching small flies like fungus gnats but dont seem to be able to catch moths or houseflies. I like them as they can by jean riley

What am I ?
pleased to have this solved!   It'll grow 6- 10 metres. Very good for butterflies and moths, but you'll need lots of space. It's not just the height is the breadth the branches take up. Thanks for the info. Looks like it could grow into a sizeable tree by Jimmar

Plants being eaten!
everything can they?  What ever it is especially loves the foxglove leaves and well anything really!  New hardy gerranium leaves are also being eaten off as they emerge.  Even the bulbs as they emerge looking a bit moth eared.  I have tulips, daffs, alliums by Ben Whistance

caterpilers
As i was weeding my allotment i noticed alot of black and yellow striped caterpilers. after some research i found them to be cinnabar moth caterpilers. the strange thing was they were only eating certain weeds and not my lettuce, cabbage nor beans by peter darby

Mysterious hole appearance in the soil.
Bee might be the culprit. Big bee. I think a mole. I've seen several holes around the edge of the my lawn  and thanks to a determined effort with a 'fence' of moth balls, not in the lawn. . Noticed pots and containers looking wonky and digging around a by daydaisy

Talkback: Insects and snow
not upset insects fans? I'm sitting at my computer and suddenly I hear what sounds like a moth, battering the light-shade. Standing precariously on a chair I spot the insect I thought was a ladybird a few days ago, in the bedroom. This ladybird, however by kaycurtis
