Help! Tens of Tree Saplings all over lawn - how to kill?
, or rip it off - that might be enough to stop it sprouting again. My neighbour's plum tree sends up suckers all over my garden.  If they come up in the law I just mow them.  If they come up in a flower bed I try to cut out as much of that bit of root by Claire8

Any advice on hand-push lawnmowers?
the birds whilst mowing the lawn. Cetti wrote (see) ..I thought about an old-fashioned hand-push one as I have always enjoyed using my dad's... Today's push mowers are not actually like the 'old-fashioned' mowers. Today's push mowers are light by Cetti

Petrol lawn mower
on your needs/budget /lawn size ?? etc As a rule of thumb anything over 2000m2  really needs a ride-on (or half a days mowing) Maintenance will make the difference, if you can spend a little more ? My ride on is about 10 yrs old  but  needed new valves by wildpatch

Wildflowers - to dig over soil before planting or not?
interest and food for insects I would include echinaceas, heleniums, achilleas and other so called prairie plants.  These are perennial so you'd have to plan not to mow.   If you sow and plant annual wildflower seeds each season for a few years the flowers by Barry Hayter

Complete novice thwarted by the weeds!
I moved into my house just over 12 months ago. It has a decent sized garden and this year I want to do a bit more than just mow the lawn!  The main issue I'm having is the losing battle I am fighting with the weeds. So here's a run down of what I by Emma Mitchell
