Seaweed for nutrients
the base of the cabbage family and on my Asparagus bed without washing the salt off. It's very good round brassicas, as slugs and snails won't cross it to eat your plants. Washed by rain etc, you can mulch your beds with it after planting or dig it in.  I by TheGardenGoblin

of additions of grit and organic matter. Each year I put on a mulch of compost and it does seem to help, the fine grit I have dug in to the soil. Good luck! Definitely feed it with manure, lots of home made compost if you have it and use planks to avoid walking by kevc

wood shavings, it will rob the soil of prescious nitrogen if it is dug into the soil. The answer is to put it on top of the soil as a mulch, which will help to improve the soil structure. I too have recently received 2 trailers of manure at least 3 year by larrtcotter@aol.com

and appeared in March 2012 at which time I mulched with leafmould and it has grown at least 4 times bigger that it originally was.  The flower spikes have been showing since April/May and were light green/cream, soft and looked healthy.  Now, many of them by yarrow2

, we feed it with erricacious feed and mulch but still no flowers. Any ideas please. Dai I would incorporate giving it some potash  in the form of Tomato feed, (Tomorite) as this helps initaites flowers and fruits. It may just be lacking this, so worth by dai

Davie-S I'd just be inclined to keep tying the shoots in to their supports, rather than risk accidentally removing potential flowering shoots in error- well quite likely in my case! Clematis are greedy plants, so keep them well mulched, if in the ground by Percy-Grower

that the numerous roses are already looking weary....gave it water....should we feed, prune, mulch, or all three....we are complete beginners to gerdening!!! Thanks for any help! Any idea what the variety is? It may not be repeat flower. It may have brought by Brycey D
