Chillpings
Chillpings, where can I get them? Hi Vivienne, Firtree clippings and conifer clippings are acidic - I don't grow fruit so I'm  not sure if this is what your friend meant.  Great for Rhoddies and azaleas as a mulch though. by Vivienne Horner

flowering. Maybe it needs more shade but it also needs good moisture. Does it get dry there? Even now, I would move some soil away from the base and make a recess and fill with water. Do,it few times to saturate the soil and then mulch by butterflybrain

Tidying up herbaceous plants for winter
friend who clears all dead growth, which enables her to fork over her beds and apply a winter mulch of well rotted manure and compost over the plants before winter really sets in. Is there a preferred method (from the plants/wildlife point of view by Tim Burr

Weeping trees dragging on the ground
I have two weeping trees as above which are constantly 'sweeping' the bark mulch around and under them on to the lawn. Will I cause problems for the trees if I cut the ends of the stems off?  If it should be OK, when is the best time to do it please by nightingalebrook

Cats
I get over 8 cats visiting my garden during the day to "do their business" in my pots and in the garden.  I have diligently mulched my plants in my borders for the winter and it has just become an glorified cat litter tray!!!!!  HELP!!! This comes by Katrina Bourne

Beech hedging not retaining leaves
should give it its annual trim in August.  As a trimmed hedge is continually renewing its leaves it should be fed with a good general fertiliser such as blood, fish and bone in spring and a mulch of well rotted garden compost in autumn. If you miss by Paul Gaffikin
