Clematis
hole and mulched which I didnt really do. I also have few plants round them to offer shade to their "feet"......I haven't pruned at all due to their not being much to prune!...Should I replant, or make a couple of adjustments and be more patient by Brycey D

KILLING IVY
Would mulch or some kind of covering eradicate ivy? We have a well established section that covers the whole bed & the roots are impossible to remove! Use a glyphosate spray or gel-like Roundup-but you might have to repeat the treatment a couple by Dahlia2

Raised asparagus bed
I have a shallow raised bed of asparaus which is just 3 years old and I am about to replace the temprary wooden edging used to create it.  The new edging will allow me to increase the depth of the bed by about 3 inches giving the crowns a deep mulch by gerrya

Help - should my acer palmatum be in acid soil?

What do I do with Rhodendriums
the hole well beforehand & also well water the plant in once planted. I personally also would put some bonemeal into the planting hole beneath the plant. I'd also mulch it afterwards- compost, bark chips etc. As with any new planting dont let it dry out by Julie J

red hot pokers
hi all, any body know the best thing to do with red hot pokers over the winter. they look so untidy right now and i would dearly love to cut them off around ground level and give them a good mulch to protect them. any ideas? many thanks Hello by bossdaddy
