ALSTROMERIAS When the flowers fade, do I cut down the stems or pull them from the ground? I have read that both are correct, but which is best for the plant?  I always pull them out of the ground, was told to dry mulch them over winterhave not done by cheshirecat

Peach curl
an extraordinary number of fruit forming. However it has now developed peach curl. I have removed the effected leaves. I have read elsewhere that I should take off the fruit, feed I, mulch under it and then " keep my fingers crossed for next year" My question by Cathryn65

Loveage
? Yes it will be dying back about now, so no panic yet! After it's died back it would appreciate a mulch/feed of well-rotted manure or homemade compost. J. Yes, it'll disappear over the winter and be back twice as big and three times as handsome next by Moonlit Hare

Camellia buds not opening
I planted a flowering camellia last March and ensured it was well watered through August - September.  I fed it with ericaceous mulch in autumn and spring, and have had lots of healthy buds on it since February, but as yet not one looks like opening by lindsay2610

Sowing Poppy Seeds
Hi Everyone, I want to grow some Poppies over my tulips when the die back.  Do I just scrape back the composted bark, sprinkle the seeds and replace the bark?  On Friday's GW, Monty just threw seeds into the Jewel Garden on top of the compost/mulch by Yvieh

How to prune a Pieris
of the stems every spring, going for the oldest each time.   It should produce new shoots form the base.   To keep the foliage colour, give it a feed for erciaceous plants every spring and then a mulch, after rain, of ericaceous compost to suppress weeds by kellylewis

Clayey soil
fertile but roots cannot grow well because of the poor drainage.  If you add at least a 2 inch layer of compost to the surface as a top mulch, the worms will do a lot of the work for you and the soil will improve over the years.  I find all brassicas do by METAL MAN GARDENER
