Talkback: Mullein moth
The mullein moth is one of the ever decreasing number of British moths to be found in the wild. It is appalling to recommend the destruction of these caterpillars. I have observed moths for 50 years and I have seen my first mullein moth caterpillars by Lovemoths

Talkback: Mullein moth caterpillars
we live in central scotland and we have found a mullein moth in our garden and it has hatched under a wall light. We thought it was an elephant moth because of the trunk like body but when i looked it up on google images it did'nt look like it, so i by AJ mothy

can anyone help with this white flower?   It's one of the verbascums (mullein) http://www.specialperennials.com/Other_Perennials/Plant_List_verbascum.htm Lovely plants, but watch out for attack by the mullein moth caterpillers. Thanks so much by joslow

Butterflies
I just scrape them off (time consuming but less yucky than squishing 'pillars)  everything else tends to be left to its own devices I keep an eye out for caterpillars ofsawfly on solomon's seal, mullein moth on verbascums and of course cabbage by Kitty4
