onions
Hi i was just wondoring what i am doing wrong.I planted onion sets about 6 weeks ago in raised borders full of topsoil and some of the bulbs are rotting dark brown and soft the leaves look healthy and are about a foot tall by kevin merriman

onions
hi, i overwintered onions on my allotment, i was wondering if i should  give them a perk up by feeding them .i,m growing them under large cloches,as for the past 2 years the wind has wrecked them!! How cold is it where you are? I would feed them by iain jamieson

Onions
Put my red barons in the ground yesterday, anyone think i've jumped the gun or do you think i may get away with it? thanks Onion sets? Fine if ground isnt frozen or saturated.Cover with fleece fo a while....stops birds pulling them out and protects by adam murray

We have started chopping our onions up if they have had soggy necks, or bull necks and freezing them for future use. The 'good' onions are hung up to dry and hopefully they'll last. Ive new onions growing on the allotment, and they are looking by susier

planted red onions sets14th april there is only 1 coming through the soil,do you think there is something wrong. If one's up the others should follow soon. You did leave the onion tips poking up above the earth didn't you? by bluejan

Walking onion
Has anyone tried growing the japanese walking onion.   I was reading about it the other day and was wondering how easy it was to grow - and how much space is required.   Anyone with hands on experience out there? I don't understand that why by chickenlady
