Garden gaffes
We' ve all done it at one time or another. Planted something  in wrong location, wrong soil, too shady, too sunny. Can anyone beat this ? Years ago I purchased a Viburnum macrocephalum ( Snowball Bush ) by mail order - planted it and everything by jean riley

Clematis Montana
as described above in order to avoid the plant looking scalped for a few months and be a bit gentler on the plant, but if you don't mind effectively starting from scratch you can cut back the lot to within a couple of feet of ground level. A mature montana won by tattianna

it may be slugs. They have been inedable for the last 2 seasons. I tried some reds I found growing sprouts in some I bought from Tesco last year and planted them. These were a 90 per cent success hardly any damage. Can anyone tell me why, and do you think by Tom Tom

HANDY HINT FOR GARDEN LABELS
 which  were rounded,instead of pointed at one end.  I looked on line to price the wax spatulas, and found that I can buy 100 for the price of £ 1.50p. That will do me fine, I have ordered the spatulas which even come with free p&p, they should be able to stick by thrifty mama
