Spring Bulbs
I have daffodils, tulips and other spring bulbs which are planted in containers and have now finished flowering.  The foliage is still green especially on the daffs.  I would now like to empty the pots for veg planting and some summer bedding plants by Jante

newly planted perennial plugs
to 5 inch, they'll stay in these ones until spring next year. I haven't over-wintered any plants before (apart from a chilli my aunt oddly decided to sow in October), but I have a cold frame where they will hopefully be ok during the winter by alfiemoon

WSwan lives up to its billing?
experience with this plant, is it as impressive as it is described i.e. a well behaved, compact 'continuous' blooming anemone. But I guess all of this is moot if it cannot survive my hardiness zone. I am in zone 5b.  I look forward to hearing of your 'real by copperbeech

Begonia looks odd !
and when did you start them off? If you have a picture then please post it, someone here will know what is up with them.  I'll post the photos tomorrow. I overwintered them in the shed.  They took a long time to shoot before I planted them out in the garden by Chris 7

Storing Dahlia Tubers
I have read many articles and watched several video clips on methods of storing Dahlia Tubers each one differing in some way from the next. I would value comments on the essential points to watch out for during the overwintering process. My home by Malcolm Harrison

Overwintering perennials
I bought plug plants earlier in the year of Chrysanthemums, Snapdragon, Gerbera Osteospermum and Dahlia.  I have lifted the Dahlias and put the tubers in the greenhouse to dry out. Not quite sure what to do with the other plants. I think I should by Mrs M

Talkback: Growing chillies from seed
to encourage fruit to set. Overwintering: Chilli plants are perennials and are generally more productive in their second year than their first although most people grow them as half-hardy annuals. It is worth overwintering them if you have the space on a by Denzle43

Talkback: Small trees as hedging plants
bushes for the allotment which a friend didn't need. Hoping they will act as a good wind break. Can't wait, love them both and there is nothing like home-made sloe gin. I have a plant that has turned up in my tiny garden and I don't know what it is! It by sandie
