Hanging basket trial
Well, as an experiment I've just planted-up a couple of hanging baskets with a new dwarf (just 12" high) clematis named 'Bijou'.This is what she looks like in a patio pot, so fingers crossed:    The plan is, I'll be able to take them down by David K

Just passing
years ago, a friend and I were out for a walk, when we came across a pile of perlargoniums at the front of someone's drive with a "please help yourself" note.  I had never grown them before, so I took a couple home, overwintered them, and I still have by Susie Fox

Problems with my Delphinium seedlings
if not then the following Hmmm. I thought the very same to be honest. Think I will hit another sowing when I do my alba foxgloves. Thankyou and let you know how it goes. Fingers, toes, legs etc all crossed I planted baby delphiniums outside last year in autumn, they died by Sam Glendinning

Rose Blackspot
are seeing quite a bit already. Being organic we generally rely mostly on hygiene to keep diseases at bay and roses are no different. We collect all the fallen leaves each autumn to prevent the blackspot spores from overwintering and being ready to re by Lavender Lady

New school greenhouse- where to begin?!
equipment should we start fundraising for? Thanks!! I too run a gardening club in a Primary school and should love a greenhouse.  What about some lettuces to start; overwintering your geraniums etc (- we are using window sills all over school for ours by Sheelagh Leith

in strong wind. If you are marketing it as somewhere to propagate and overwinter plants, lots bigger and better products for cheaper. Sorry to seem like a stick in the mud, just saying it as I see it. I looked at the site too and they seemed a bit top heavy by barrelgreenhouse

Greenhouse recommendations
do have to be flexible! I overwinter stuff in there, in the summer I can cram in 4 tomato plants. Overall, very useful, I'd hate to be without it. by tomalli

. Lily- a well-drained spot, but enriched compost. Sun best or part shade possible. If pot grown, plant now. March usually the start time for them. Plant deep 6-8ins/15-20cms. Pot grown ones can be overwintered next to a wall/behind a shed & repotted by PaperFlowers

Tidying up herbaceous plants for winter
I'm in two minds about clearing up summers perennials that are now fading from green to yellow/brown. Somebody once told me to simply leave it to provide winter protection for the plant, and the garden wildlife (both good and bad), but I have a by Tim Burr
