How can I overwinter chocolate cosmos? I have lovely clumps of these still flowering in containers but I never manage to bring them through the winter. I have an unheated greenhouse and I also sew wool-and-hessian bags to protect my container plants by Julia Barrow

Chocolate cosmos
What is the best way to overwinter these lovely plants? Mine are still gorgeous clumps of flowers at the moment but I know from bitter experience that winter weather will be a big problem. I have an unheated greenhouse and I also sew wool by Julia Barrow

Are Heliotrope hardy
Can anyone tell me whether Heliotrope are a hardy plant or a bedding plant.  I live in Suffolk and have a fairly sheltered garden.  Any advice would be helpful.  I would say Heliotrope are a tender perennial - they can be overwintered somwhere frost by Linda Taylor2
