Overwintered failures
Decided to try some autumn sown and overwintered veg this year. Started off OK with winter cabbage, japanese onions and broad beans. BUT cabbage did nothing and just then all died, onions more than half have suddenly disappeared, and all broad beans by blueberry77

campanulas
! Should i lift the plant after removing damaged leaves and overwinter in greenhouse, as hasn't flowered yet? These campanulas are hardy so having it inside isnt needed. The leaves are probably beginning to die back now because of the shortening day length by diana dani`els

Alstroemeria overwintering
I have a large Alstroemeria in a pot, I understand they are not fully hardy in cold climates.  If I move the pot to an unheated greenhouse or shed overwinter will this be enough to keep it ?  Also if the plant survives, when is the best time by sunnylou

Talkback: How to grow lilies from bulbils
This article is just a "sound bite" - let's have a bit more depth.Useful info would include optimum temperature for overwintering and alternatives of what to do once the bulbils are "grown on".I live in Scotland, where a cold frame can reach many by christinelove

help my fuchia has been eaten!
I noticed a couple of weeks ago that fuchias overwintering in my unheated conservatory had bits missing out of the leaves. Today the leaves have completely been eaten. Does anyone know if I can do anything about this? Vine weevils usually eat chunks by mucky

LILY BULBS
- the beetles overwinter in soil. Re-plant your bulbs as quickly as you possibly can - unlike, say, daffodils they will be damaged if they dry out at all. by lindapalmara
