Talkback: Picture-wing flies
it Horsetail weed, at the moment we have a digger and it is moving and levelling off the lawn to relay and lay a patio. My question is while the earth is up and being turned over what chemical can we use to help to get rid of this pesky weed. Please help by Chris9

Too much cement in flower bed
My hubbie is a hard landscaper and has transformed our garden with new fences and patios. I have spent the last 2 summers trying to disguise as much of the new fence as possible with honeysuckle and clematis but there are areas in the beds along by frustrated_gardener

keeping slugs off the hostas
be dangerous to small people.  I use a mixture of crushed egg shells and coffee grounds,seems to work ok,and you get the benefit of a gound coffee smell wafting across the patio. by gail collins

Blueberries
in the brochure where I purchased them from.  Perhaps I should have a go. An example of Blueberry that doe not need regular pruning is Tophat which is a patio variety. As a rule, prune as you harvest and you will not go wrong and that saves you cutting that years by Sando2

Rowan Tree Propagation

Double planting
this with 1 large patio pot, Lillies underneath, and Tulips on top and it seems to work ok.  Just not sure about this working in the ground.  Or, would this work with Roses instead of Lillies?  Has anyone else done this, or have any tips?  Help and ideas by Yvieh

first, though - much better to have a plan before you start stripping things away and find yourself with nothing more than mud to look at. The garden looks quite long. You could put trellis up to separate it into less daunting areas eg patio area by Duchess
