neighbours extention!
We have a new view - Outside our patio doors we are now hit with our neighbours 4.5m high extention to the left - the garden at this point is narrow at only 4/5m deep and very wide at about 25-30 mtr - we currently have a narrow border all the way by Lucy Crack

Talkback: Feeding the birds
' feeders I put their food in trays on top of the barbecue or patio table so that my Labrador cannot help them eat their feast! Happy New Year to you all I only have three feeders halfway down my garden,containing peanuts,fatballs and seed with a safe haven by Nanna greenfingers

Mini greehouse slugs
won't use pellets as I have a cat that is very curious, so how do I stop them.  Beer traps work fine when buried in the dirt but of course my greenhouses are sat on my flat patio.  I have tried eggshell in some of my outside pots of luttuce by wrightnuk

Traditional plants along side more modern ones??
My husband is a landscape gardener and has transformed our garden into a lovely blank canvas for me, with a large family size patio, turf and a corner indian stone sun trap patio for evening drinks! We have a south facing garden with fence all by julieasayers

Unidentifed Raptor
, making me think maybe a fox (I was a bit surprised as we have a rescue GSD cross).  I'd forgotten earlier in the week there was something big swooping around & not a sparrow to be seen. Anyway, I was near the patio window doing some tidying earlier today by Julie Stoakes

Blueberry bushes
and gets very little sun. Will blueberries thrive in the shade? Mine have to be in pots due to my soil type and it's quite handy to be able to try them in different places to see what they prefer. They had a year on the patio - West facing and sun for half by Huntertony

Plants for narrow border
with lavender hidcote - but this is a sheltered patio area, where we often eat. Would bees be a problem? I'd love to hear some other ideas. (We live in Dorset) how lovely to live in Dorset it is a lovely place,Hardy country,my favorite well one of many we visit by Berkley

Talkback: Garden seating areas
Sinclair for his posh charm and unassuming expertise in gardening matters,  but I'm not sure what I think of his warning to avoid pink patios. I had one years ago (crumbs! 35 years ago!) and I was extremely proud of it. I thought it was very posh indeed by donutsmrs

What we are doing this week
couple of shrubs to plant that fell into my GC trolley  and I have to manure my  raised bed , for pulses. Always leaves to clear. So will attempt most tomorrow  I started to clean the patio and steps of their slime and dig out weeds from in between by artjak

Talkback: How to make a pebble mosaic path
a large project on to an ugly concrete patio. I cant take the concrete up. Would be be grateful if anyone has any idea of how and if its possible to lay something like this?many thanks It's great to see people being encouraged to make their own by lucyvanpelt
