how much you could get into it. Always aim for quick growing plants to cover soil, chuck on a bit of bark chippings, then very little weeding is needed, plus I think it looks neater! Happy to help. Sorry - you have put 8x6 on your post, not had a good by welshkatt

How long after lawn feed and weed killer can I plant things?
A week ago we sprinkled granular lawn feed and weed killer all over the lawn (most of the garden), inculding areas down the edges that I had planned to tuen into flower beds. Do I need to wait before doing this now? I've got loads of stuff to plant by PaperFlowers

off veg beds you don't want scratched up, but in the perennial borders, they are a Godsend, they eat woodlice, ants and scratch up all the weed seedlings, cleaning and manuring the ground beautifully. Eggs are fab, and they are friendly pets. we have by Angie

Advice on my overgrown garden (inc pics!)

Ornamental grasses
to be? In my own garden I use ornamental grasses but plant them along with irises and crocosmias to give a sort of semi-formal look. My reason for this is that I have an area of short mown lawn neatly edged and surrounded by perennial borders. My 'semi by christopher2
