Will this work for a new part lawn?
them.   I try to grow to high standard but that doesnt mean masses of work.  I mulch, for example, to prevent weeds, etc. Grow perennials that do not need stakIng....some do need it of course.....and do numerous things to ensure low workrate Rosebush by roseblush

need help
'll need to start with plugs or even larger plants. If you're starting from scratch you can sow a wildflower mix to suit your soil after removing perennial weeds Poppies, cornflowers, corncockle etc are cornfield flowers (or weeds if you're a farmer by denise butcher

and so on. If they're not willing to show you where the soil came from and guarantee against perennial weeds then look elsewhere. Excellent - thanks Joe_the_Gardener It's worth giving your local council a try, many sell bags of soil conditioner/ compost by BigMAL

A Vetch Maybe ?
blue flowers.  Its a bit clingy, like a pea plant.  I haven't seen or heard of it before, but I would love to have some more plants like it. I think its a perennial. Do any one here have one?  Maybe you could tell me how to propagate it? Can I take by Joy H

Please help me design my garden - part 2
. This edge had got a layer of weed-net and is covered by bark.  It is shaded almost all day.  Last year I (optomistically) planted a couple of hydrangea which unsurprisingly haven't done well, although they are just about still alive.  I was planning by Laura P

gravel bed/border ... replace with bark?
weeds coming through and just looks a bit messy. thankfully, nothing is planted within the gravel border ... but i do intend to plant all around it. for this reason, im wondering whether i should remove the gravel, remove the fabric, improve the soil (i by djjjuk

Identify plant
.  They are perfumed and about 15"/35cm high.  Will have to stake them as blowing a gale now but - are they a garden flower, a wildflower or a weed?  They sort of resemble wallflower and the perfume is lovely.  The stems are soft at this point and mis-shapen because I by yarrow2

I want daisies to grow in the grass
wrong for daisies - it's just ordinary garden soil. Just a thought, I had some Bellis daisies in pots on the patio one year, I have had daisies in the lawn ever since. I do not use weed killer on the lawn either. Might see if I can find some Bellis by Supernanauna
