King Edward potatoes

Talkback: Owls in abundance
when I plant bulbs in pots to stop squirrels taking them I place up turned hanging baskets over them and anker them down with bamboo until they are big enough, then the pests leave them alone. bye the way Pippa the owls are beautiful lovely picture by Louise

potato problem
Hi, Can anyone help identify this pest, if I leave my potato crop in the ground too long these tiny worm like creatures make holes and when dug up they all start to come out it is revolting.   Does anyone know any remedy for them. I do follow a crop by Daisytwo

hard to compost, and make a neat pile in an open patch. Leave it for a week or so, then with a scrap of old newspaper, burn it and then rake the ashes around that  area. It provides pest control where the fire was, potash to spread around, cooks by peteballan

Shredded Leaves
Can anyone help? I have a wonderful Rheum in my front garden it grows beautifully evry year but for the last couple of years it is being attacked by some sort of pest or larvae that eats lots of holes in the leaves until they are completely shredded by Lottie22

, At the moment the plants are sufficiently damp, BUT the flowers are limp and the buds are bulbous, leaves are fresh.  Is  this due to lower temp or erratic watering?  There are no pests on the plants.  I would add that this has only occurred during the last by brockley
