to pinch out or not
Hi, My sweet peas got a bit leggy, so I pinched out the top couple of inches, however they still seem a bit floppy (maybe they need to be planted out and not still in root trainers, but given the weather....). Should I pinch them out more, taking by sthlndngrower

Pinching out Antirrinhums (Snap dragons)
I've got a few of the above and want to make them 'bush out'. Can I pinch out the growing tip ?  and if so how big should it be when I do it ? Thanks Chris I wouldn't, or you'll lose the main spike. Modern varieties branch well on their own by Chris 7

pinching out
Does anyone knows if we have to pinch out the top of kale and of pepper plantlets? I am growing these for the first time and am ready to plant them out. Answers very much appreciated thanks. No, leave them. Most modern seeds are bred to branch by quiet lady

pinching out
was wondering if it would be to my advantage to continue to pinch out new shoots during the growing season to increasing leaves and therefore increase photosynthesis and have a healthier plant and root system for new growth next spring...   Thanks in advance by Percy-Grower

Tomatoes - pinching out
I know this question's often asked... but when do you pinch out the tops of your plants? My various vine tomato plants are generally 5 - 6 ft tall currently, with on average about four/five trusses with tomatoes on, starting to ripen now. clearly by Bf206

Broad beans
Is it recommended to pinch out the growing tips of broad beans? Hi Russell, only when they are fully grown (ie about 3-4ft tall) and that is only to prevent blackfly infestation.  I usually wait until one plant has a sign of blackfly, then pinch out by Russell Parry

Dahlias
I am about to plant out my dahlias grown from tubers which have now plenty of shoots. Should I pinch out the tops of some shoots to make the dahlia more bushy? It depends if you want a bushier plant with smaller flowers, or a taller plant with big by Scampi57
