Best tasting early peas
last year - Purple Pea. Apart from the latter the others grew well from seeds sown early March, must be the soil and being sheltered but pea's and beans do really well in my garden. We had a couple of very chilly nights too after they were planted out by Verdun

Does it hurt to cover baby leaves when planting tomatoes You should only plant up to seed leaves when potting on tomatoes, or most plants, for that matter. However, tomatoes can put out extra roots from the stem, so other folk may well tell you by John Reynolds

Talkback: Making plant pots from old newspaper
ready-made plants I don't think I can live long enough to see them degraded by the frost. Perhaps I should cherish them as family heirlooms as oil shortage will mean plastic will be too expensive to produce in future. Was there not some controversy about by TheRedFeathers
