Talkback: Garden bonfires: ashes to ashes
What utter nonsense. Think of the CO2 put out by a bonfire! Any 'unsuitable' diseased plant material should be taken to your local municipal compost heap, where the higher temperatures generated (compared with your average garden heap) will destroy by jro

The free Maskotka tomato seeds have almost all germinated and I've planted them up in a mixture of John Innes No 2 and 3 (as that was what I had to hand). They have shot up to almost a foot tall and are rather thin and weedy. Should I pinch out by Annee

Ideas for honeysuckle and jasmine support - and scent!
I'm wanting to grow a honeysuckle and a summer flowering jasmine against my 6' high lap fence.  Can you advise on the kind of support they would need?  And which varieties of these shrubs have the strongest scent?  Thank you! Mine are on the trellis by happycottontail

Help choosing climbers
garden feel then take a look at some of these climbers. Or maybe consider training a fruit tree up the wall like a pear. Will you be able to plant directly into the ground, or will you be growing in a pot? What sort of framework will you have to support by Heppy
