Double planting
at the moment, but when they finish, I'll have lots of gaps.  Can I double plant, so that I have something to fill the gap?  Can I lift the baskets, lift the tulip bulbs, plant, say, Lillies, and put the Tulips back on top, and re-sink the baskets?  I have done by Yvieh

Spring Garden
all the old perennials out, only to find my tulip bulbs rotten in their baskets which I planted maybe 2 years ago!  I have heavey clay soil and as this bit of garden is visible from my kitchen window, I'd like a cheerful display from early spring by Snailspace

Tulips
level, going to full colour and just staying hunkered down in the leaves. The 'normal' mixed colour tulips in the garden - about 40 bulbs planted 2 years ago which give a great display have disappeared.  Not a single one has come up.  I don't lift them by Judith2

tulips not flowering..
gardenfanatic, Are these tulips left over from previous years, or did you plant them last autumn? If they are old bulbs, then it's quite common for fancy tulips to fail after the first year. Unlike daffodils and many other bulbs, they just don't like staying by gardenfantic

Talkback: Tulips
is needed. I planted my tulips in troughs this year, and they have been spectacular (sorry to rub it in).  The only disappointment was that the deep burnt-orange ones were a bit more peachy.  I had intended a full colour clash with strong purple and deep red by www.my-garden-school.com

What to do with dead flowers/Tulips/Daffodils
Hello I planted lots of tulips and daffodil’s last year, and they have come up and now I have some questions. 1. What should you do when the flowers die?  (do they need digging up etc) 2. Is there any way of preventing daffodils flowers collapsing by Deev8

Soil and tulips
I love tulips and have bought some ready to plant soon; I have always grown them in pots (my garden is small and full!) and because I don't want the bother and expense of buying more compost or using my own small amount, can anyone think of a reason by Mahwah

Dried up Tulip bulbs
Hi, How viable are my Tulip bulbs if they are dried up and shrivelled? Is there anything I can do? Unfortunately I couldn't plant them out last year so spent a season in storage. Your advice will be much appreciated. Sorry to say I don't think they by Virago

Tulip & Narcissus bulbs
Someone told me that it's possible to plant spring flowerin bulbs in aquatic pots and plant them in the Autumn then lift them out after flowering, leave them in a quiet corner to die down then repeat the process again.  Is this right or was someone by tattianna
