courgettes
please?  I suspect this is because they've not been fertilised - possibly due to a lack of male flowers or a lack of pollinating insects due to the weather. However, my courgettes are not rotting off even tho' I suspect they've not been pollinated - see by jenny wren

Apple Tree does not bear fruit
pollination group so your neighbour's trees may not be the best match.  You can use Google to find the best pollinators for your tree. Also, you need insects such as bees to do the pollination so make sure you have plenty of flowering plants nearbyto attract by Twinkle3

Frost & apple trees
a fleece on when frost is forecast and it is taken off during the day when the bees are active. I think the problem was more likely to be lack of pollinating insects because of the weather, it happens as well when there is a lot of rain at flowering by yvonne parsons2

No apples and few crab apples.... :(
to poor pollination if you had plenty of blossom. The heavy rain prevented the pollinating insects from flying. I'm sure that's right. Some of our apples are cropping well but some are not. We have almost no pears, no quinces at all (despite copious by wisehedgecrone

Cornus Kousa
and flowering bracts are the main attraction of these plants.  They are also insect pollinated so try growing other plants with nectar rich flowers to attract them. Thanks for that - not self fertile, I hadn't thought of that. There is another one in the next by Daintiness

Mountain Ash
/forum/problem-solving/no-berries-on-my-rowan-trees/5096.html Apart from the reasons we gave on the thread linked to above, the  almost continual heavy rain and cool weather which caused a significant lack of pollinating insects this spring is likely to have something to do with it. Next year to look by Rosebud4

Should I be hand pollinating my fruit trees?
I have young cherry and apple (Egremont Russett, DIscovery) trees in flower but it's very chilly and I'm not seeing any bees or other insects.  Do I just use a paint brush and dab it from flower to flower?  Anything else I should know? Thanks I don by Laura Corin
