Talkback: Nasturtium and thyme
as an adult. And now, I love nasturtium vinegar! I sowed some poppy seeds from a packet of cooking poppy seeds from Julian Graves as I wanted to harvest some that I was certain would be edible. To my surprise they have germinated en mass. ( I thought by Frances M

Spring is here and so are the slugs!
I spotted some holes on my tulips and Oriental Poppies today, so I thought I would pop out this evening to see what the culprits were. Surely enough SLUGS. I wandered the problem areas and could only find baby slugs (probably because I got rid of so by Mattbeer87

When and Where do I sow
Hi My name is Poppy and I have a new allotment.  I am getting so so confused at the moment. When seed packets say "Sow" does that mean I can sow directly into the ground.  Because they then say transplant, but I have already sown. Should I start my by Poppy3

need help
Hi to you all and a good 2013 to you, ok I am moving house soon and have a huge garden which will need a gardener, but it has just me and my husband, so we thought maybe make a grass pathway which we can mow and have wild flowers, like poppies by denise butcher

One for the ladies...
plants are used in my life but was wondering if there was anyone else that did the same? um dock leaves for nettle stings, um i read somewhere parsley is a powerful aphrodisiac. I'ce seen big fields of opium poppies grown in lincolnshire by the showground by Sam Glendinning

new lavender bed advice
, and the soil is poor & sandy. My question is what do you think would look better - all one type of lavender, or three different coloured ones for a patchwork effect.  I have 100s of orange poppies (escholzia) in there which will make a good contrast I hope. I by Hoc
