Talkback: Preparing beds for planting
. In the first veg bed, I chitted some potatoes and now I have green leaves above the ground (all very exciting). In the other bed, I have Cougettes, which look like they have died. They were growing lovely on my window sill. Also added Carrot, spring Onion by joseph woosey

swede or weeds?
they should be looking like at this stage. Can some one tell me if this is swede or weeds (...which I notice are anagram of each other!)       That does not look like swede leaves to me-it looks a bit like potato leaves-is that likely-from peelings in compost by nadiamaz

again next year myself Homeland -or Homeguard???? I have never heard of homeland potatoes,I have grown homeguard which become masive if left in the ground untill late summer,iI am growing BF15 for the first time which is a sport of Belle De Fontenaye by 4711

late start,more advice please!!
beans, French beans, sweet corn, courgettes, nearly time for potatoes - 2 or 3 weeks, but you want the frosts over when the green leaves appear. Fresh manure is not a good idea. Leave it in a pile for autumn. Get some compost if possible and organic by geg jones

Talkback: How to practise crop rotation
could I put courgettes, squashes and pumpkins? And as onions and leeks like similar soil to the legumes can I plant them in the patch just vacated by the potatoes? Can anyone help? I am with you, crop rotation makes sense once I know whether something by knittynana

I had it. Good luck and you've been warned. Thanks. Do the shoots look anything like potatoe shoots cos I had 3 of them quite close to the later variety cane and my mother in law told me they were potatoe shoots which wouldn't surprise me as I hav by lucy33

few things we have grown so far..
they are growing vry well so far thinking about potatoes but not sure which ones are best and when to plant them any advice on this would be fabby happy growing x Well, we're more veggies than flowers, but it is our first year. Instead of uploading all the photos by chellie

Where are my vegetables?
of living a bit ....prices of veg are ridiculous!)  The garlic onions and rhubarb are doing really well but everything else seems to be afraid to come out!! I've planted peas, beans potatoes, carrots and beetroot so far and apart from the peas and beans just by Diane Horsley

Talkback: Choosing vegetable varieties
