potato varieties
I have just read that January is the time to start chitting potatoes.  I thought I would try to grow some in patio bags but would like to grow something that I can't buy (cheaper) in the supermarket.  Can anyone recommend any varieties please? Hello by cloud8

Potato Blight
Hi All Can anybody recomend a good blight resistant Late potato to grow for storagr over winter. Yet again I have got blight on the tops this year as Monty Don suggested in Gardeners World a couple of weeks ago I cut off the tops and we are eating by Colin Atkinson

seeding potatoes
I have some little potatoes (maris piper) from this years yeild can I leave them to sprout and use them to grow some more next year..if they will last that long or do I need seeding potatoes.. Im new to growing veg so any advice would be grateful by flowergirl4

rotten potatoes
hi i have just acquired an allotment. on digging it i am finding lots of rotting potatoes that by looks of things were planted last year and havent been harvested. i have removed the ones i have found, but wonder whats the best thing to grow in same by wendy 8

forcing potatoes
i planted a potato on the 16th feb 2012 in a pot noodle pot with some seed compost and put in a dark place for a month or so and it grew a cupple of stems and a good root sistem and planted in a contaner in mid march and it don brilliant i got a by cody smith

Potato Blight - which potato to grow
Hi, I have been looking through the forum and doing some reasearch online but have got myself a bit confused. I would like to grow potatoes next year and have heard about potato blight but then not sure which potatoes to grow next year. Can anyone by Emmaandsam Emmaandsam

potato blight
We have an outbreak of potato blight at the allotment.  If we spoary with bordeaux mixture now and it rains in a couple of days - wouold we need to spray again after bearing in mind that the mixture might have had time to dry on the plants by then by carol ashton

Gowing Potatoes
Hi everyone can anyone explain why my potatoe (stem/leaves )grow up to about 4feet tall i have tried putting the tubers in deep and i also earth up, i have to somehow put a tie round to stop them falling over, i have tried them in 2or 3 different by newby

potatoes for the winter
Hi Can I plant potatoes at this time of year ? ..if so which variety are best? Thanks hate to tell you its not the time to do it really.I have bunged in some old potatoes and got a poor result in autumn.I don't know if there is a variety for winter by flowergirl4
