rental garden

compost.  I use John Innes loam-based seed compost for seeds and cuttings.   As for your Photinia Red Robin, I would say it's too late for cuttings now - you'll find advice on pruning and propagation here by Red Robin 2

have germinated in the propagator, I then remove the covering from the seed tray for about a week, then remove them to the greenhouse bench (after turning up the heat in the greenhouse to approx 50F).Suppose a windowsill indoors will do the same job by dereck

   large plants they seem healthy and start bforming the brandts but they dont quite make it verdun   what do u mean by clones ? Often when varieties of plants are propagated some results are better than others....I call them clones but prob incorrect term by gary cook

Perennial wallflower

Seed sowing times
to the conditions so a bit more info is required Last frost date,current weather conditions ,soil conditions Tender plants or hardy plants? -do you have as greenhouse? -cold or heated?-a cold frame?- a propagator? Not as easy as looking at the back of a packet by Mrs M

, unfortunately sterile, but can be carefully divided in spring.  So much potential There are some nice ideas there figrat. I love Hebes Kate, so easy to grow and I have a few that I can propagate from   I will also check out figrat's options and certainly by Wintersong

Paper pots versus what?
I have just spent a happy hour making paper pots which I use to start off my seeds in the propagator. Once the plants are big enough I just pop the paper pot into a 3inch plastic pot for growing on. I just wondered what other folk use for starting by chilli lover
