To cover wood tip or not?
On my potted plants that were supported by bamboo stick, I noticed the bamboo tip were covered with a plastic cover. What is the purpose of them? Asthetic, safety issues or to protect them from rotting? I recently purchased a trellis made of willow by Kitty Jingga

How to overwinter?
I have 3 Echium Pininana (Tree Echium) which are barley half grown, now about 1.5m, thanks to the awful summer. They are too big to dig up and repot in the greenhouse (and probably wouldn't survive this anyway): is there any way of protecting them by Scipio

What stripped my plum tree buds?
garden. We also have frequent visiting bullfinches, but imagine they would not have wreaked the havoc we were annoyed to find. Any suggestions on how  to protect this year's growth? by gardenbunny123

Hydragea
most of them on until the spring when I prune the plant, as the old flower heads protect the next year's flower buds. David10, just enjoy the new buds that are about to open so I would remove tatty flowers that will spoil them. When they, the new buds by David10

my rosemary!!
can I do? Hello jdjp122, This sounds like tortrix moth. These moth caterpillars roll leaves around themselves to protect themselves - a very successful strategy. Carnation tortrix moth is known to attack many different plant species, including herbs by jdjp122
